Are You Well Placed To Explore?

Yes! It's hard to know where to start when close to the middle of a small island - from temples to tea, golf to orphaned aliya, and upto four World Heritage Sites, we are well placed to enjoy a number of Sri Lanka's main attractions.


How Far From Colombo/Airport Is The Kandy House?

The traditional road journey from Colombo can take around 3.5hours. Air taxis have begun some scheduled flights to/from Kandy, landing and taking off only 15 minutes drive from the hotel.


Is Breakfast Or More Included?

Breakfast is included with all Room Rates. There are options for other meals, including Half and Full Board, depending on the type of booking. Dietary requirements can typically be accommodated. Please enquire for all details.


Do You Have A Spa?

There is no spa on the property, but The Kandy House has its own masseur and yoga can be arranged by prior appointment (see Wellness page).


Is there a Child Policy?

Yes. Although we love children, experience has proved that it's not suitable for Under 12's. Kandy has a number of suitable hotels for younger children, as the divine peace and quiet at The Kandy House means we have less to amuse them.


How Is Access For Wheelchairs?

As an old house, it has not been built for easy access everywhere. However, two Ultra Rooms open onto wide verandahs for good access and are on the same floor as the library and sitting areas.


Do You Have Drivers’ Accommodation?

There is none available at the property, but arrangements can easily be made for suitable lodging nearby. Please contact directly if required.


Are Non-Residents Welcome for Meals?

Most of the time...they are welcome to drop by for lunch or tea. Please call by midday if you wish to join us for dinner.


Are You Part Of A Chain?
